Inspired by her own journey and prompted by recent events, Russian-American pianist Liza Stepanova explores the music of composers who are working in the United States but hail from around the world. The program includes Southeastern U.S. premieres of “Tahirih the Pure” (2017) by the Iranian composer Badie Khaleghian and Venezuelan-American Reinaldo Moya’s “The Way North” (2017). Additional composers include Lera Auerbach, Anna Clyne, Chaya Czernowin, Gabriela Lena Frank, Kamran Ince, Eun Young Lee, and Pablo Ortiz.
This performance will be streamed live on Dr. Stepanova's Facebook musician page at https://www.facebook.com/liza.stepanova.pianist/?ref=br_rs
